TLC identification and determination of deoxyandrographolide of Compound Kumuxiaoyan Tablets

Abstract:
AIM: To establish the quality standard for Compound Kumuxiaoyan Tablets (Herba Andrographis, Ramulus et Folium Picrasmae). METHODS: TLC was performed to identify Herba Andrographis, Ramulus et Folium Picrasmae. HPLC was used to determine deoxyandrographolide content. The Agilent ZORBAX SB C 18 column was used, and mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile 0.1%NH 3(35∶65). The detection wavelength was at 251nm. RESULTS: The quality control study showed that the characteristic for identification by TLC was distinct and hightly specific. The quantification method of deoxyandrographolide had the linear range of 0.04992~4.992?g( r =0.9999). The average recovery was 99.70%( RSD =0.63%, n =9). CONCLUSION: The methods of identification and quantification were accurate, realizable and reproducible. It can be used effectively for the quality control of Compound Kumuxiaoyan Tablets.
