Abstract:
Objective: To ascertain the role of nitric oxide(NO) in hemodynamic dysfunction in patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods: The plasma levels of NO and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) of 28 cirrhotic patients and 16 normal controls were measured by Griess and colorimetric methods. Meanwhile, cardiac output (CO), cardiac index (CI) and systemic vascular resistance (R) were determined.
