Abstract:
Using the HPLC method for determination of vitamin D in fortified milk powder was adopted since 70's and lasted down to the contemporary years, but there were no suitable chemical methods for determination of vitamin D in fortified foods.Though this method was based on JAOAC & Analyst and other references, but it was improved through our experiences. The equipments here required can easily be obtained.The rate of coincidence with HPLC was 85.1%, the rate of recovery was 85.5%-92.2%, mean 89.5%. Thus, the accuracy and reproducibility of method are comparatively good.It is, therefore, a better method for determining vitamin D in fortified foods, and is practical and effective.
