Abstract:
Diminished apoptosis, due to overexpression of antiapoptotic proteins, is involved in tumorigenesis and chemoresistance. Antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ASODN) has been used to inhibit the expression of antiapoptotic proteins(f.g bcl 2, bcl x L , survivin),aimed to induce apoptosis or enhance chemosensitivity. The combination of ASODN with conventional treatment is possibly a reasonable approach in furture cancer therapy.
