Diagnosis and treatment of pseudoaneurysm with color Doppler ultrasonography

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the feasibility and the best method in the diagnosis and treatment of pseudoaneurysm(PA) with color Doppler ultrasonography. Methods The sonographic characteristics of PA in 40 patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results The sonographic diagnoses were coincident with the findings of surgeries and angiographies. Two patients with pseudoaneurysms following catheterization were cured successfully with ultrasound guided compression. Conclusions Color Doppler ultrasonography is the best method in the diagnosis of PA.Post catheterization pseudoaneurysms can be managed with ultrasound guided compression as the first choice.
