Abstract:
Objective: To evaluate the effects of the combined radiofrequency (RF) with oral appliance (OA) therapy on obstructive sleep apnea(OSA). Methods: 15 patients with OSA were diagnosed by overnight monitoring of polysomnography(PSG).They all received bi-polar radiofrequency treatment on palate twice.Polysomnography were taken for the patients 6 weeks after the second RF treatment. 10 cases without TMJ disease and periodontal disease with more than 10 teeth on each of maxillae or mandibulae were treated with OA.
