Abstract:
The article summarizes the achievement achieved in Chongqing higher education field since Chongqing became the municipality directly under the central goverment, esp. since the universities and colleges increased the enrolment, by transforming the modes of thoughts, developing education, adjusting the structure, improving quality and serving economy and society. It also puts foward the main measures to quicken the development of Chongqing higher education, improve its teaching quality and initiate a new situation at the beginning of the new era.
