Abstract:
In essence, sepsis is an excessive inflammatory response to pathogenic microbes, during which some other harmful stimuli such as necrotic tissue and/or cells aggravate the inflammatory insults.Hitherto, sepsis-induced mortality remains high, mainly due to insufficient understanding of its pathogenesis.Sepsis, for its multiple triggers, diverse cells involved, intricate network of signaling proteins, and numerous complicated catabolites/metabolites, urges for a novel insight and a broader scope of studies.
