Abstract:
Author has studied photopic flash ERG for 27 control subjects and 28 patients with diabetic retinopathy and cataracts were excluded from the analysis. 1. In the 56 eyes of patients with diabetic retinopathy, 42 of them showed abnormal photopic 9ash ERG including 5 eyes which showed no consistent waveform. 2. There was significant difference in implicit time of a-and b-waves of photopic flash ERG between the control and diabetic retinopathy with cataract groups(p<0.01). 3. There was significant difference in amplitude of b-wave of photopic flash ERG between the control and diabetic retinopathy with cataract groups(p<0.01). 4. The abnormalities of photopic flash ERG had no significant correlation with the duration of Diabetes Mellitus and the severity of diabetic retinopathy.
