Situation of lower genital tract infection and related factors in married women in child-bearing age at Tam Ngoc commune, Quang nam province in 2003

Abstract:
Study on 675 married women in child-bearing age at Tam Ngoc commune, Quang Nam province showed that 229 ones of them (33.9%) suffered with lower genital tract infection. Among them, merely cervical infection acquired 82.1%, vulvitis 7.9%, cervical infection and cervical ectropion 4.4%, merely vaginitis 3.9%, vaginitis and cervical infection 0.9%, cervical ectropion 0.4%. Pathogens included: various bacteria 65.9%, Candida spp 32.8%, Trichomonas vaginalis 1.3%. The related factors to genital tract infection were: age, the socialeconomic level of family, using of domestic water, place of practising personal hygience, hygienic condition practice, previous gynecological deseases, knowledge of gynecological diseases, child-birth numbers, gynecological history and the number of generations living in household
