Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating acute cerebral infarction coupled with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).Method Totally 126 patients with acute cerebral infarction coupled with OSAHS were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 63 cases in each group. The control group was intervened by conventional comprehensive treatment, while the treatment group was additionally intervened by acupuncture treatment. The OSAHS indexes were observed before and after the treatment, and the clinical efficacies were compared between the two groups. Result The OSAHS scores (AHI, minimum SaO2, and ESS score) were significantly changed in both groups after the intervention (P<0.01,P<0.05). The OSAHS scores of the treatment group were significantly different from that of the control group after the intervention (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 93.7% in the treatment group versus 82.5% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture is an effective approach in treating acute cerebral infarction coupled with OSAHS.
