Abstract:
Objective To study the effectiveness of phase Ⅰleft colon resection and anastomosis on serum insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with acute intestinal obstruction. Methods 92 patients with acute intestinal obstruction were randomly divided into two groups ,the obser-vation group(n=46) and the control group(n=46).The patients in the observation group were operated through phase Ⅰleft colon resection and anastomosis ,while the patients in the control group were operated through Hartman . Serum IGF-1 and VEGF were measured in preoperative and postoperative patients .Results The observation group for the length of time (14.9 ±6.4)d,shorter than the control group(28.3 ±9.6)d(t=5.426,P<0.05);observation group, incision infection, anastomotic leakage were 2 cases,1 cases, the control group was 3 cases,1 cases,no signifi-cant difference between two groups (χ2 =2.19,1.29,all P>0.05);two groups of postoperative serum levels of IGF-1 and VEGF were significantly decreased ,compared with the control group ,the observation group was significantly lower (t=3.064,2.394,all P<0.05).Conclusion Phase Ⅰ left colon resection and anastomosis can significantly de-crease serum IGF-1 and VEGF levels in patients with acute intestinal obstruction .
