Clinical observation on the treatment of chloasma with Huoxue Xiaoban Decoction

Abstract: Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of treating chloasma with Huoxue Xiaoban Decoction.Methods A total of 80 cases were randomly recruited into a control group and a treatment group, 40 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Huoxue Xiaoban Decoction, while the control group was treated with high dose of Vitamin C. After both groups were treated for a therapeutic course of four weeks, the therapeutic effects were compared between them. Results The total effective rate was 85.0% and 47.5% in the treatment group ands the control group respectively, showing significant difference between the two group (χ2= 12.26, P＜0.01 ) . Conclusion Huoxue Xiaoban Decoction was effective in treating chloasma.
