Abstract:
Objective: To study the effect of marrow mesenchymal stem cell(MSC) transplantation on earlier femoral head necrosis and its action mechanism. Methods: After establishment of steroid-induced femoral head necrosis models in 60 New Zealand white rabbits,we selected 36 of them with diagnosed femoral head necrosis and randomly divided them into Group A(untreated control),B(decompression only) and C(decompression + MSC transplantation).Four and 8 weeks after the operation,6 rabbits were taken from each group for MRI scanning, and then killed and their bilateral femoral heads harvested for H-E and CD34 immunohistological staining and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Results: Eight weeks after the treatment,MRI showed an obvious minification of the low signal region, and histopathology and SEM revealed a decrease of empty lacunae,an increase of osteoblasts and new bone formation in group C,with significant differences from the other two groups in the positive rate of empty lacunae and the density of microvessels(P
