Abstract:
The article introduces the types as well as biological characteristics of hernia repair materials, and compares the application value of different kinds of hernia repair materials in inguinal hernia repair.According to the chemical composition and biological characteristics, the hernia repair materials are divided into three kinds:nonabsorbable, absorbable and compound materials The best advantage of absorbable material is anti-infection, which can provide temporary support and protection for infective abdominal defect.Another advantage is that the absorbable material can improve the proliferation of collagen.The non-absorbable material also has the anti-infected effect.Once the infection occurs, the nonabsorbable material does not need to be carried out.But the nonabsorbable material is forbidden to place in the abdominal cavity and contact with viscera, because of the severe adhesion occuring between the material and the viscera, resulting in digestive tract obstruction and even intestinal fistula.The compound material has the both advantages of absorbable and nonabsorbable materials.We should select the different kinds of hernia repair material according to self-condition of patients.
