Abstract:
AIM: Previous studies on the effect of exercise training on tissue anti-oxidation ability always focus on endurance training. In this study, we observed the effect of exercise training on anti-oxidation capability in rats skeletal muscle at different function states to know more about the mechanism of the positive or negative influence on organism induced exercise. METHODS: The experiment was performed at the Physiology Laboratory, Academy of Physical Education and Science, College of Qufu Normal University from April to June 2003. ①Fifty-six male Wistar rats were randomly divided into a control group and a training group (n=28). The rats in the training group were subjected to treadmill training for 8 weeks, but the rats in the control group were not trained. The rats in two groups swam for two days in plastic barrel. ②After the rats were executed under anesthesia, the superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) activities and anti-oxidation capability of rat skeletal muscles were measured at the resting state, immediately after fixed-loading exercise, immediate of exhaustive exercise, 24 hours after exhaustive exercise on the 3rd day, 7 animals at each time point. RESULTS: Fifty-six rats were included in final analysis. ①In resting state and 24 hours after exhaustive exercise, the SOD, anti-oxidation capability, and GSH-PX activities in the skeletal muscle of the control group were significantly lower than the exercise training group (P
