Abstract:
Soft liner materials for denture are applied on the surface of denture base, and present elasticity after solidification. These materials ameliorate the impacted biting force, and relieve or eliminate the tenderness. Moreover, they can gather denture base with alveolar crest closely, and improve dentural retention. Due to the specific physico-chemical properties, soft liner materials play an amortization role between denture base and alveolar crest, and are applicable to the complete denture restoration in patients with serious depauperation of alveolar crest. The properties of soft liner materials vary with different factors, thus affecting the exertion of function. The aim of this paper is to analyze the bonding strength, hydroscopicity and dissolubility, micro-organism attachment, together with aging resistance of soft liner materials, besides, to investigate the influential factors on the physico-chemical properties of soft liner materials for denture, further modify their properties and exert better functions.
