Abstract:
To observe the effect of interlocking intramedallary nail transplantation on homonymy fracture of shaft of tibia and femur. Totally 34 patients with traumatic homonymy fractures of middle-inferior 1/3 segment femurs and middle-superior 1/3 segment tibias were selected from Henan Luoyang Orthopedics Hospital from November 2000 to December 2005. Ti-alloy interlocking intramedallary nail made in Wujin Ter-factory of Jiangsu province was applied. To select the fron-outside patella opening approach, a needle was thread to femur and tibia step by step. Follow-up was performed at least 6 months after operation. The fractures of 34 patients got dissection positioning and synostosis. Functional evaluation of postoperative knee joint was good. Inserted bone nails were fixed, and there were no bad events such as cinched, breakdown nails and infections or side effects. It indicated that the modus operandi is simple and satisfactory to select the fron-outside patella opening approach and interlocking intramedallary nail to treat homonymy fracture of shaft of tibia and femur.
