Abstract:
Objective To report the 5-10 years clinical follow-up results of patients who underwent percutaneous balloon mitral valvuloplasty (PBMV) in order to verify the interim and long term results, as well as the incidence and risk factors of restenosis. Methods From January 1996 to June 2001, 83 patients including 12 males and 71 females, with age of 20-68 years old (mean age of 41.56?10.68 years old). The clinical data and echocardiography before and 2 days after PBMV, and 5-10 years (mean 3.1?2.4 years) follow up were studied retrospectively by the SPSS software.
