Abstract:
Objective:To inverstigate the predictable value of vascular active factors-angiotensin-Ⅱ((AT-Ⅱ)),interleukin-6(IL-6),and insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) for the occurrence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome(OHSS) in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS). Methods:Twenty one patients with PCOS,17 patients with polycystic ovary(PCO)and 14 ovarian hyperandrogenism(OHA)and 8 cases of the control were received the intramuscular injection of human choronal gonadotropin(HCG)on the metaphase in natural or induced menstrual cycle. The blood was sampled before the injection and 3,6,12,18 and 24 hours after the injection.AT-Ⅱ,IL-6 and IGF-1 were determined by radioimmunoassay with commercially available kits. Results:The serum levels of AT-Ⅱ after HCG stimulation in PCOS patients was higher than other three groups with statistic significance at 3-hour point. There were comparable serum IL-6 and IGF-1levels among the four groups. Conclusion:Serum AT-Ⅱ may serve as a predictable marker for the occurrence of OHSS in patients with PCOS before ovulation induction.
