Foot Massage with Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Insomnia

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of foot massage with Chinese medicine in the treatment of insomnia. Methods In this paper, 93 cases of hospitalized patients with insomnia were randomly recruited into two groups. A treatment group with 47 cases was treated with foot massage, and a control group with 46 cases was treated with diazepam. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after being treated for 14 days. Results In the treatment group, the patients with good sleep quality accounted for 93.0% and poor sleep quality accounted for 17.0%; while in the control group, the patients with good sleep quality accounted for 52.2% and poor sleep quality accounted for 47.8%. The difference between the two gropus was significant (X2= 11.23, P<0.05 ) . Conclusion Foot massage with traditional Chinese medicine has good effects in improving sleep quality of insomnia patients.
