Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the cause and preventive measures of chemotherapy-related death from human malignant neoplasms. Methods:A retrospective study was carried out to evaluate the clinical data of 15 patients with chemotherapy-related death of human neoplasms in 2008.The cause, treatment, survival time after chemotherapy and preventive measures were analyzed. Results:The average age of the 15 patients was 52.4 years, and 5 of them were treated with docetaxel. The mean survival time after chemotherapy was 16.8 days.5 cases presented severe sehematological toxicity, and 2,breath failure.Conclusion:Chemotherapy-related death from human malignant neoplasms was correlated with disease history, age and chemotherapeutic agents, etc.;therefore,no use of docetaxel for patients aged over 60 years or with hepatic and lung diseased history could decrease the chemotherapy-related death.
