Clinical Study on Preventive and Therapeutic Effect of Wenshen Huashi Decoction for the Recurrence of Calcigerous Urinary Stone

Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of Wenshen Huashi Decoction(WHD) on related parameters of calcigerous urinary stone(CUS),and to explore a method for the prevention and treatment of the recurrence of CUS.Methods Forty qualified urolithiasis patients were equally randomized into two groups.The treatment group received WHD(mainly composed of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata,Rhizoma Dioscoreae,Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata,Poria,Herba Lysimachiae,Radix Rubiae,etc).The control group received dihydrochlorothiazide(DCT) 50mg,bid.The treatment lasted 14 days.The related parameters of CUS were observed before and after treatment.Results The parameters for promoting the formation of urinary calculus,such as pH value of the fresh morning urine,and the urine concentrations of calcium(Ca),phosphorus(P) and oxalic acid,were obviously decreased in the treatment group.However,the parameters for inhibiting the formation of urinary calculus,such as the total volume of 24-hour urine,and the urine concentrations of magnesium(Mg),citric acid and glycosaminoglycans(GAGs),were increased in the treatment group(P
