Clinical Observation on Treatment of Breast Cancer in Advanced Stage with ZhengYuanShengBai Podwer Combined with Chemotherapy

Abstract: Objective To observe the effects and safety of ZhengYuanShengBai powder combined with chemotherapy treating breast cancer in advanced stage. Methods 90 patients with breast cancer in advanced stage hospitalized from Oct. 2005 to Oct. 2007 were randomly recruited into a treatment group (50 cases) and a control group (40 cases). Both groups were treated with vinorelbine and priarubicin for two courses of treatment. The treatment group was additionally administrated with ZhengYuanShengBai powder for treatment. Blood sample was drew at the first and last day of chemotherapy to examine the hemogram and liver and renal function. Results There was no obvious difference between the two group in terms of short period effects. While the quality of life and toxic reaction in the treatment group were obvious better than the control group. Conclusion ZhengYuanShengBai powder can improve the quality of life and reduce side effects of chemotherapy in patients of advanced breast cancer.
