Abstract:
AIM: To establish an atomic absorption method for determining sodium bicarbonate and bismuth subcarbonate and HPLC method for determining cinnamaldehyde in Qiwei Weitong Capsules (Radix Aucklandiae, Cortex Cinnamomi, Fructus piperis Longi, etc.) METHODS: Flame type:Air/Ethine; Lamp of negode Na. and Bi.; Na. be detected at wavelength of 589.0 nm, Bi. be detected at wavelength of 223.0 nm; Flow rate of acetylene gas: 1.8-2.0 L/min, Flow rate of air: 13.5-15.0 L/min; slit 0.2 nm- 0.7 nm. Using C_ 18 10 ?m column, the phase was methanol-water-acetic acid (45 ∶55 ∶ 0.2 ), at flow rate 1.0 mL/min the UV detection wavelength was at 280 nm. RESULTS: The linear range for sodium bicarbonate was 2-10 ?g r= 0.999 5 and bisonuth subcarbonate was 5-25 ?g r= 0.999 8 . The average recovery for Na was 99.35% , RSD= 0.066% and for Bi was 99.60% , RSD= 1.053% . The linear range for cinnamaldehyde was 0.147 2-3.680 0 mg, r= 0.999 9 . The average recovery was 99.63% , RSD= 1.07% . CONCLUSION: The method is simple and accurate and can be used for the quality control of Qiwei Weitong Capsules.
