Abstract:
Objective By mapping specific expression of RIM3? mRNA in the central nervous system and inhibitory neurons,we probed into physiological function of RIM3?. Methods Adult Wistar rats were used in the present study. The brain and cervical enlargement of the spinal cords of the adult Wistar rats were dissected.Using In situ hybridization and double labeled fluorescence assay,we demonstrated the specific expression of RIM3? mRNA in the central nervous system and inhibitory neurons. Results RIM3? mRNA was preferentially expressed in lateral posterior thalamic, mitral layer of the main olfactory bulb, layers Ⅱ-Ⅳ of somatosensory cortex, the granula layer of the cerebellum and the superficial layers of the spinal cord dorsal horn.Double labeled fluorescence assay showed the expression of RIM3? in some inhibitory neurons of the cortex, the spinal cord and the cerebellum of adult Wistar rats. Conclusion Specific expression of RIM3? mRNA in the CNS of rats provides the basis for further exploring physiological function of RIM3?.
