Abstract:
Objective To study the chemical constituents of Opuntia dillenii.Methods Many kinds of chromatographic methods were used in the isolation procedure,while the structures of compounds were elucidated by various spectral data.Results A new ester together with five known compounds was isolated from the 80% ethanolic extract from cactus stems.The compounds were characterized as dimethyl(2R)-2-[(4-ethoxy-4-oxobutanoyl)oxy] succinate(Ⅰ),guaiacylglycerol-?-ferulic acid ether(Ⅱ),methyl p-hydroxy-(E)-cinnamate(Ⅲ),methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate(Ⅳ),and benzoic acid(Ⅴ).Conclusion Compound Ⅰ,named opuntiaester,is a new one and compounds Ⅱ-Ⅳ are obtained from the plants of Opuntia Mill.for the first time.
