Abstract:
Objective:To assess the relation between the MRI findings and clinical manifestations in spinal cord injury. Methods:Clinical data and MRI findings in 50 cases with spinal cord injury were retrospectively analyzed, focusing on the relation between MRI sign, prognosis and clinical manifestations.Results:3 cases with complete fragmentation of the spinal cord demonstrated lower signals in 5 and higher signals in 1 T 1WI,while in T 2WI,all of the six fractured ends showed higher signals.Of 47 cases with coherent spinal cord, abnormal signals were displayed in 44 cases. In T 1WI,there were lower signals in 36 cases,iso-signals in 6 cases and higher signals in 2 cases, while in T 2WI,there were higher signals in 37 cases, patching mixed signals in 10 cases;No- abnormal signal but local pressed in 3 cases. Conclusion:MRI can clarify the presence or absence of the spinal cord injury and determine the extent of the injury, very helpful for guiding clinical management and evaluating the prognosis.
