Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical value of continuous passive motion (CPM) and sodium hyaluronate (SH) in the patellar fracture patients postoperatively. Methods: Seventy - two cases of the patellar fracture were treated with SH and CPM machine postoperatively. Results: All of the patients experienced primary healing. The functions of the knee joint recovered well. All patients were followed up over six months,and none of them were found to have suffered from traumatic arthritis. Conclusion :The application of CPM and SH in the patellar fracture patients postoperatively has the satisfactory results of reducing pain,speeding up the healing of cartilage and improving the functions of knee joint. It is efficient to stop the process of traumatic arthritis following the patellar fracture.
