Abstract:
C-reactive Protein (CRP) has been used for differential diagnosis of bacterial and viral infections aiming to decide early antibiotic therapy. During four months, from September to December 2003, 363 patients with high fever were tested CRP serum concentration to help clinicians to use proper antibiotics at early stage. The results showed that only 23.7% cases with high fever and infective symptoms should be given antibiotics
