Abstract:
The present study showed that the dendritic spines were distributed not only on the dendrites, but also on the soma of the pyramidal cells in the visual cortex of the rabbit after treated with Golgi method. The somatic spines were found in contact with the axonal collaterals, which formed axo-somatic spine synapses. The findings suggested that the morphology and function of the spines in the cerebral cortex are rather complicated.
