Improvement of the service efficiency of the communal health network of Thua Thien Hue province during the last 10 years (1994-2003)

Abstract:
A survey conducted in diverse health centers in Thua Thien – Hue showed that: in the period of 1994-1998, on an average of 71.25% of total rural commune and urban quarter, there were physician of university level, in 1999-2003 period – 90%. Between 2 periods, there was no considerable difference in the quantity of physicians of mean level and basic level. There was not a similarity between plain area and mountainous area. In mountainous areas there was low number of physicians but rather high number of midwifes. In plain areas and Hue city, Phu Vang, Huong Thuy, Phu Loc districts, there were doctors in 100% of health stations
