- Abstract: Objective To investigate the change of serum IL-6 level in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)and to evaluate their roles in the pathogenesis of COPD.Methods The levels of serum IL-6 in 39 patients with COPD and 20 healthy control subjects were detected by ELISA.Results The level of serum IL-6 in malnutrition group was higher than that in other two groups,and the level was connected to the serious condition of disease.Conclusion IL-6 takes part in the inflammation activity and can worsen the level of nutrition in patient withCOPD.
