Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the effects of slowly release(SR) carbohydrate system on glucose and lipide metabolism in the elder patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods:The previous enteral nutrition was replaced totally or partially with Glucerna in 11 cases of elder patients with type 2 diabetes for 1-3 months.The changes in hemoglobin, lymphocyte counts, serum albumin, total protein, glycemia, postprandial 2 hours blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin, triglyceride, cholesterol, kidney function,electrolytes and the symptoms of gastrointestinal tract were observed.
