Abstract:
Objective To investigate the lethal effects of energy controllable steep pulses on U_(14) cervical cancer in mice. Methods A total of 48 female BALB/C mice were inoculated subcutaneously with the solution of U_(14) cervical cancer cells line at the right hind limb. The histomorphological changes were observed and the suppressive curve of the tumor was analyzed between experimental group (n=26) treated with steep pulse stimulation and control group (n=22) without any treatment. Results Steep pulses electrical field could selectively injure tumor cells and inhibit cell proliferation. In the experimental group, the phenomena of pyknosis, karyorrhexis and karyolysis of tumor cells were observed by light and electron microscope and got worse as time prolonged. Conclusion Energy controllable steep pulses have a lethal or inhibitory effects on cervical cancer cells.
