Abstract:
Objective: : To investigate the influence of neura l cell adhesion molecule(NCAM) on the proliferative behavior of human U251MG cell line. Methods: After transfecting with human transmembrane 140- kDa isoform of NCAM. The alteration of cell cycle, growth rate of cell populatio n of human U251MG and G251 line in vitro , and the tumor growth rate, tumor s ize of intracerebral tumors in nude mice were all compared. Results: It revealed in the NCAM-transfected cell line a lower proliferation rate ( P
