Abstract:
36 children of exotropic amblyopia, 20 of constant exotropia and 16 of intermittent exotropia, were performed multi-channel VEP examinations to find that all amplyopic eyes manifested VEPs of lower amplitude and longer latency. With full-field stimulation to both eyes, summation of VEP was absent in the group of constant exotropia while it was weakly present in the group of intermittent exotropia. With half-field stimulation, temporal retinal suppression was noted in all healthy eyes and some of the amblyopic eyes of the intermittent exotropia group while it was absent in the amblyopic eyes of the constant exotropia group.
