Abstract:
Oxytoxin (OXT) was given for 20 days to the guinea pig with hearing loss induced by Streptomycin treatment of 20 days. EcochG and 40 Hz auditory event related potential (40 Hz AERP) were recorded by long-term implanted electrodes and endocochlear potential (EP) and the pathological changes were observed correlatively. It was found thatthe development of hearing loss stopped and the eiectric responsing threshold recovered for more than 20 dB due to the OXT treatment. The damage of hair cell in OXT group was also much slighter. Indicated mechanism of OXT effects was discussed.
