- Abstract: solubility and analysis of chemical components of carotcnoids in bacterial cell (Cr-1) were described in this paper. The results showed, by reverse high performence liquid chromatogra-phy, that the main components of carotenoids were all-trans-?-carotene, 13-cis-?-carotene and 9-cis-?-carotene. The minor ones were ?-carotene, a-carotene and canthaxathin. Studing on the ingredients of cellular pigments will be the theoretical basis for their potential applications to the nutritional foods and medicine.
