Abstract:
22 patients with severe viral hepatitis (SVH) were treated with combined therapy, indices of hemorrheology and plasma (TXB2) of 18 patients were determined. In the patients with SVH, viscosity (high shear rate) and reduced viscosity (high and low shear rate) of whole blood and plasma thromboxane B2 (TXB2) increased markedly before treatment and decreased obviously during treatment. Endotoxemia developed in 13 of the 18 patients with SVH. The results suggest that the combined therapy improves the disturbances of blood rheo-logy and microcirculation in SVH. The changes of hemorrheology, TXB2 and endotoxemia probably participate in the pathogenesis of microcirculatory abnormalities in SVH.
