Abstract:
Digoxin was administered to young dogs orally so as to determine concentration of serum digoxin by means of periodic radioimmunoassay followed by clinical observation and EKG changes.Dogs were divided into four groupsshigher and lower maintenances groups ("HM" "LM")and lower and higher saturation groups("LS" "HS") .Serum concentration level of "LM" and "HM" groups rose to the peak in 3-6 days after digoxin administration. The stable serum level reached 0.63?0.32 ng/ml and 0.67?0.07 ng/ml.The peak of serum concentration in "LS" and "HS" groups appeared in 2 hours after medication and persisted for 24 hours, then declining to a level of 1.39?0.13 ng/ml and 1.58?0.09 ng/ml with relative stability, with the exception of a few samples which exceeded 3 ng/ml, being more as in "HS".According to the experimental results dosage of digoxin for children was discussed.
