Abstract:
Seven 1-(N-benzoyl) and eight 1-(N-benzenesulfonyl) amino acid-3,3-dimethyli triazene derivatives were synthesized in order to search for antitumor agents with lower toxicity.These compounds were tested for growth inhibitory activity in a micro-bial antitumor screen and for their antitumor activity against the L615 leukemia in mice.The screening data showed that the antitumor activity in the L615 leukemia screen was almost identical with that of growth inhibitory for Lactobacillus casei var.The most active compounds in this study were compounds 2 and 3 which were more potent than 1-(p-Carboxy phenyl)-3, 3-dimethyltriazene and showed lower toxicity.The ILS values for compounds 2 and 3 were 400% and 336.1% respectively and LD50 values were over 2000mg/kg (ip) in mice.
