Abstract:
This paper presents one case of total glossectomy and six cases of subtotal and partial glossectomy with transplantation of free forearm flaps to repair and reconstruct tongue defects.In this series, the operation proved successful in six cases, but failed in one only.The operation achieved the desired contour and function of the tongue,The authors have accordingly attempted a new procedure of glossal reconstruction. Prospects concerning improvement of the technique are discussed.
