Abstract:
Objeetive To access whether calcitonin exerts a chondroprotective action in unstable knees which induce experiment anterior cruciate ligament transaction(ACLT)on the right knee and were divided randomly into two groups-ACLT group and ACLT+CT group.ACLT+CT group began to receive a daily subcutaneous injection of salmon calcitonin at a does of 5 IU per kg of body weight for 6 weeks;in contrast,ACLT group received NS at the same does.All rabbits were killed on day 49 postoperation cartilage sections were stained with safranin-O-fast green,HE and immunostained MMP-3 antibodies.Chondrocytes expressions of MMP-3 and aggrecan were further examined by Realtime RT-PCR.
