Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effects of fluoride on the cell viability, cell cycle, apoptosis, and expression levels of NF-?B in primary cultured rat hippocampal neurons. Methods The rate of cell survivor, distribution of cell cycle, the percentage of apoptotic cells and the mRNA expression level of NF-?B were respectively measured by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT), flow cytometry (FCM), and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) after the hippocampal neurons were incubated with 20, 40, and 80 ?g/ml sodium fluoride for 24 hours in vitro.
