Abstract:
An orthotopic penetrating keratoplasty model was used to study the immunosuppressive effect of FK 506 on the corneal re-allograft in Lewis rats. Nine eyes received subconjunctival injections of FK 506 (0.2mg/kg) once every three days. Physiological saline was used in 9 eyes as control. The results showed that FK 506 effected a significant delay in allograft rejection with a mean survival time of 9.56?0.96 days VS 6.13?0.93 days in the control group (P
