Abstract:
the effects of boiled infusion and active fraction("801") of the root of Aconi-tum carmichaeli Debx. on cardio-hemodynamics were observed and compared with those of dopamine and isoprenaline(in 16 anesthetized open-chest dogs). After intravenous injection of boiled infusion of Aconite root and "t80l"resulted in an increase of left ventricular systolic pressure(LVSP),maximum rate of change of intraventricular pressure( ?dp/dt max), VCE at common peak isovolumetric intra-ventricular pressure (VcE-cpip), Cardiac output (CO), and heart rate (HR) and a decrease in time to peak dp/dt(t-dp/dt max). All these changes were significant or very significant. The boiled infusion of Aconite root was shown to be more potent, except the effect on CO, than "801". The former raised mean aortic arterial blood pressure (MAP) significantly while the latter had a tendency of lowering it. When the cardiovascular system was deeply depressed by a large dose of sodium pento-barbital,all above indices of myocardial contractility were enhanced, the hypoten-sive action of "801" reversed to raise MAP."80l"increased stroke index(SI), while other three drugs did not. Their effects of increasing myocardial contractility and heart rate were antagonized by propranolol, suggesting above effects were due to the stimulation on the ?1 receptor of the myocardium.Boiled infusion of Aconite root elevated total peripheral vascular resistance (TPVR) while "801" decreased it; the former increased left ventricular work index (LVWI) significantly while increase due to the latter was insignificant. Both drugs increased femoral arterial flow (FAF)significantly. The cardio-hemodynamic effects of boiled infusion of Aconite root is similar to those of dopamine, while "801" similar to isoprenaline.
