Abstract:
Cyclic nucleotides in plasma, lung and pancreas were determined by radio-competitive protein binding assay before and after acute experimental pancreatitis in dogs. Plasma cAMP was increased three-fold 30 minutes after pancreatitis and remained at high level for 5 hours. cAMP was increased in the lungs and decreased in the pancreas,as compared with the controls. There were no significant changes for cGMP. The mechanisms of the above changes were discussed.
