Effects of chemotherapy with gemcitabine in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer elderly patients

Abstract:
Purpose:To observe the effective of gemcitabine in elderly patients(pts) with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC), compared to supportive care alone. Methods:Gemcitabine group (n=21), received gecitabine (1 250) mg/m~(2), on days 1 and 8,using 21-day schedule, total 4 cycles. Control group (n=23) , using supportive care alone. Results:The overall response rate of gemcitabine group was 28.6%, 6 had partial response(PR), 12 had stable disease(SD),3 had progression disease(PD).No patient had complete responses (CR) and PR in control group.
