- Abstract: Purpose: To investigate the change of serum erythropoietin ( EPO) level in patients with cancer. Methods: Serum EPO level in normal controls and 94 patients with hematopoietic system tumor (49), non-hematopoietic system tumor(45) were detected by chemolumimiscence. Serum EPO level in patients witb acute leukemia(25) and non hematopietic system cancer(31) were compared before and after chemotherapy. Results: Serum EPO level in patients with hematopietic system cancer anemia and non-hematopietic system cancer were significantly higher than normal control (P 0. 05).
